What does the symmetry feature do?
FaceScore generates AI observations about the jawline and apparent facial symmetry as part of its detailed reports. The feature gives you context to explore alongside your image. It is not a medical symmetry assessment and does not identify the cause of asymmetry.
How to take a photo for facial symmetry analysis
Position the camera at eye level and face it directly. Use even light from the front, keep your expression relaxed, and avoid tilting your head. Move hair away from the features you want to see. Use the same camera and distance when taking another photo for comparison.
Why a small head turn matters
Try this photo exercise: take one front-facing image, then another with a slight head turn. The side closer to the camera can appear different in size and shape. If your report changes, you have changed the image conditions as well as the AI input. That comparison does not establish a change in your face.
Can an app measure perfect symmetry?
A selfie is a two-dimensional view influenced by perspective, expression, and lighting. FaceScore’s output is an estimate based on that view. A score should not become a target for perfect symmetry or a judgement of your appearance.
What should I do after reading the report?
Read the explanation before making decisions based on a number. If you want to compare scans, repeat your photo setup and keep notes about what changed. Health concerns belong with a qualified clinician rather than an appearance score.
